Light is cast on a model space the artist has built, and the space is photographed. Light is cast on that print again, and it is photographed once more. Tsutsumi Asano's In progress (2023–) emerges from this repetition. With each pass, a new image rises, while details once visible burn white and disappear. Accumulation and erasure occur within a single act. What is being photographed is the already-photographed image itself. At every exhibition, the light and shadow cast in the space are also photographed and drawn into the next work. An exhibition is not a completion but the beginning of the next layer.
