Ari-ka is a life-size ball-jointed doll modeled on the artist herself. The body is formed in stone clay, finished with oil paint and eyeshadow; the hair is real. It stands upright without pose. Ball joints exposed at the shoulders, elbows, waist, and knees make no attempt to conceal the body's constructed logic. The anatomical precision calls to mind the medical mannequin. The gaze is cast downward; no eye contact is made. It is simply there.
