aaploit presents t○ken, a solo exhibition by itokawa en, on view from November 3 through November 19, 2023.

itokawa began producing digital works in January 2023, presenting them on NFT marketplaces. NFTs serve not only as proof of ownership for digital art but are also utilized in carbon emission trading, authentication of luxury goods, and raw material traceability. The certification of digital uniqueness—including commercial applications by corporations—continues to transform and expand into new stages.

itokawa has immersed herself in the NFT community, engaging in collaborations with various creators. Her collection "#100daysNFTchallenge" is an endeavor to produce digital works over one hundred consecutive days. In addition to her original pieces, the collection includes active collaborations with NFT creators, resulting in works where the personalities of guest creators and itokawa seem to blend.

The collection unfolds across NFT marketplaces through offers, giveaways, and auctions. Like the collaborations with creators, these transactions reveal the connections with collectors that are distinctive to NFT communities. Communication surfaces within these exchanges. What emerges in NFT works is not only the aesthetic sensibility visible on screen but also the shape of the community surrounding the work.

This exhibition experiments with how the digital and the physical can resonate. itokawa's studio and the gallery will be connected at all times, presenting live painting. Works produced during the exhibition will be offered through a live auction during the final week.
