Surface drawing is a series produced using an AR camera application developed by the artist for LiDAR-equipped iPhone Pro models. Three-dimensional depth data captured by the iPhone's LiDAR scanner is reconstituted in AR space; the artist walks through that space to photograph and fix the image. The resulting pictures carry distortion and noise. As the logic by which the device interprets the world, the outlines of urban scenes and human figures appear as aggregates of points.
